You may feel confused and question your own thoughts, maybe you wonder, "is this really abuse, or am I being too sensitive"? Abuse happens in many contexts, abuse in your family of origin, in your intimate partner relationships, in the workplace, and more. Making sense of your experiences and making a connection with what you really know to be true is central to dealing with abuse. Abuse is traumatic. It leaves us feeling disconnected and makes it hard to engage in life.

Contemplative therapy addresses our need for mindfulness and spirituality. Acknowledging and creating a place of safety, trust, and a place where you can be free to share whatever is on your mind with no judgement. I help you go deep into your psyche to find answers - your truth that may be buried so far down with layers of confusion, second guessing, filled with anxiety wondering what you really want and who you really are.

You are a complex person, with many emotions, needs, desires, and ways you interact in the world. Integrative therapy means that my approach to counseling seeks to address issues where you are. This means I can draw upon many methods and techniques from various therapeutic practices and taylor them for your healing. It is a flexible and dynamic way of engaging in therapy with you.

Interpersonal Neurobiology takes into account the functions of our brain, nervous system, and our emotional states to help make all these parts of ourselves work together. Having our parts work together creates a healthy, dynamic, and hopeful approach to our relationships. When we feel integrated, we feel like ourselves in our jobs, our family, our creative pursuits, and really, every part of our life.

Why does he do that? Turning your words around and creating confusion and a sense that you must be wrong all the time. You feel misunderstood, not heard, and wonder why he doesn't seem to get it. Or perhaps it's more obvious, yes, he hits, slaps, pushes - or other physical ways of hurting you. As women our lives are complex and complicated! My focus is on creative women, women like you who feel deeply and crave a sense of being comfortable in their own skin. I help you to reconnect with your inner wisdom to deal with each new twist and turn in your life by taking time to "see" you and provide you with gentle support.
