About My Clients
I see clients from all walks of life and have a deep passion for helping people sift through the heaviness that so many of us go through at various times. I work often with depression, anxiety, major life transitions, self-worth, identity, stress, love and relationship issues, finding purpose, emotional hardships, grief, traumas, and seeking inner balance.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and my Bachelor’s in Psychology with minors in both LGBT Studies and Child and Family Development from San Diego State University. I have dedicated my career to helping those who may feel marginalized, misunderstood, or just need someone they can truly trust to support them. I currently work as a private practice therapist and gender affirming practices speaker and recently served as the UCI Gender Diversity Program’s mental heath professional. I provide what I hope feels like a somewhat new and more enlightening therapy style. When clients come to me for the first time, they tell me that the way I speak and ask questions feels so different than most other therapists they have had. This is because I work from a post-modern therapy perspective and use our conversations to source strength and resilience in you so you can better connect with the parts of you that you may have felt disconnected from for a while.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I aim to uphold acceptance and equality for all, both in my professional life and in my personal life. I am a forever advocate and ally of the transgender and LGBTQ+ communities so my practice is a safe space to seek support in whether you are part of the community or just feel good about seeing a therapist who you know holds inclusive beliefs. I also thoroughly enjoy my work with young adult clients as I know what it can feel like to have a therapist who really gets you (and those who don't) - hopefully you feel the same if we work together! I also know what it is like to be a client, to be on the other side of the couch. I've been doing my own personal work throughout my life in order to be a better human being and in turn a better therapist.
