Feeling stuck in trauma? I love working with clients seeking to heal their complex trauma and PTSD. This trauma often masquerades as anxiety, which makes it confusing. We'll find just the right starting place, and I'll teach you practical tools. Whether you're feeling trapped in trauma, anxiety, or just wanting a deeper understanding of your human experience - we'll figure out together how to create more peace in your life and less exhausting hypervigilance and worry!
My Background and Approach
I obtained a Master's Degree in 2008 in Marriage & Family Therapy and became a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in 2011. I have several post-degree certifications, including Certified Professional Coach (CPC) in 2020. I use a blend of EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to form the basis of my approach but I pull from many modalities, experience, and wisdom. For you, this means I've got a range and depth of tools to serve you. For those with PTSD suffering from severe flashbacks and intrusive memories, I am a qualified Rewind Technique practitioner. The Rewind Technique was developed by Dr. David Muss and is a short-term model for eliminating involuntary recall, often completed in 1-2 sessions. This model is otherwise known as "Closure without Disclosure", as it does not require disclosing the actual trauma event to heal. So you can achieve healing without having to retell!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a licensed therapist and certified coach, I understand the struggle of those with trauma, and the way out of that struggle. I believe everyone is doing the best they can within their capacities, and sometimes the things we do to help our trauma become problematic and loom too large. While I happen to have some education and tools to help, I have been on the journey of trauma healing myself so I know healing is possible. I have training and experience in a lot of different modalities and my experience has taught me that one style does not work for all. I am an adaptable and spontaneous therapist - what is most important is what will work for you.
