About My Clients
If things do not seem to be right for you or someone you know, therapy is the first step to acknowledging that. Therapy is like any other relationship; sometimes things just fit well. Other times, you have to work to keep things going. I promise every client that they will have an ear that will listen and brain to work things out with.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelor of Art in Psychology, Master of Science in Education with a focus on School Counseling, and received my Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in the Foster Care System with New York Foundling, focusing on adolescents in crisis. I have worked at Mount Sinai Hospital as a Care Coordinator in the Health Home Program, focusing on adults suffering from inadequate care of physical and mental health. I spent the last seven years working in New York City Department of Education High Schools helping teens find their voice in and out of the classroom. Two of those 7 years, I was a Functional Family Therapist working with families in Queens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I support all people no matter their beliefs. I stand with the LGBTQIA+ Community. I have experience with different religious background and pride myself on learning the cultures all over the world with every human I interact with. I believe that Life is about the journey, not the destination and every moment is a learning experience. My practice will be focused on teaching someone to fish, not giving them fish every day. Life is not easy but your perspective makes a difference in your happiness.
