My Background and Approach
I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, having served in various roles that have enriched my understanding and approach to therapy. My extensive background includes working with a diverse range of clients, allowing me to develop a deep appreciation for the unique challenges and strengths each individual brings to the therapeutic space. My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from a variety of modalities to best meet your needs. I integrate existential, Gestalt, liberation psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my practice. This means that whether you are exploring the deeper meaning and purpose of your life, seeking to understand your experiences and emotions in the present moment, or working to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, I have the tools to support you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe that growth is always possible, and that belief drives my work as a therapist. I value authenticity, accountability, community, human rights, and the power of using your voice. These values are at the core of everything I do, both personally and professionally. As a transgender, intersex, and pansexual individual, I understand the importance of living authentically and the challenges that can come with it. My own journey has deeply informed my practice and fuels my commitment to creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their identities, heal from past traumas, and embrace their true selves. I'm an active advocate for human rights, dedicating my time and energy to activism that promotes equality and justice for all. I believe in the power of community and the strength we gain from supporting one another. Authenticity is central to my approach, and I strive to help my clients connect with their true selves, without the fear of judgment or rejection.
