About My Clients

I work with couples, parents, and families in relationship distress, and I desire to help people feel seen and heard as they move towards deeper healing and fulfillment. Additionally, I enjoy working with adults and teens who find themselves needing help with relationship challenges or with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and trauma.

My Background and Approach

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling from Concordia University, Irvine, a Bachelor's degree in Literature/Writing from UCSD, and a teaching credential from the University of San Diego. I have experience working with individuals, couples, parents, and families using therapeutic methods that help to promote healing both within the person as well as between people. I enjoy working with adults and teens who find themselves needing help with relationship challenges or with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and trauma. I use a person-centered and experiential approach, with a special regard for Emotionally Focused Therapy and attachment-based models. I regularly attend trainings to help me grow and stay current as a therapist, and I integrate these new learnings into my work so that you get the most benefit from our work together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It is my firm belief that growth, healing, and learning occur best in the context of trusting relationships. We were not meant to be alone, but to experience close relationships in which we can experience acceptance, respect, and trust even when we feel weak and discouraged, imperfect, or stuck. This can be a challenge if the people in your life have not been trustworthy, or if you find yourself experiencing uncomfortable symptoms that make close relationships difficult. I highly value cultivating a safe place for you to be able to share and discover who you really are and what you truly feel and think without threat of judgment. It is always my goal to provide this environment for my clients, and it will be one of my goals in our work together. Most importantly, in the context of this safety, I will help you connect with yourself and others in ways that open doors for you to become more at ease within as you navigate your journey in this not-so-easy world!
