If you're struggling with low self-worth, you may find yourself taking care of everyone else's needs but neglecting your own. You might feel burnt out or unfulfilled in your work and relationships, and if you're honest with yourself, it may have been like this for as long as you can remember. Using attachment based interventions, we will explore the root causes of low self-worth and work though the hurt that is holding you back from experiencing the simple joys of life.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, all of my work focuses on the improving the quality of the relationships in my clients' lives. I work with both individuals and romantic partnerships in all forms. I am passionate about supporting women and LGBTQ folx on creating relationships that make them feel safe, cherished, and heard. Get ready to laugh, cry, and deepen your most intimate relationships.
I hold affirming space for queer identities and identify as a queer person myself. I feel strongly that your gender and sexuality are yours to define and experience! I can hold space to explore your gender and sexuality or simply be validated and affirmed in your gender and sexuality as you navigate your therapeutic goals. I also enjoy working with the intersection of being queer and Black/Biracial/Multi-Racial and navigating the complexities of existing at these intersections.
We all know we exist within a dominant culture that was designed to cause us systematic harm. My approach to therapy is rooted in this lens - I am not here to help you "cope" with the impact of systemic oppression; I am here to help you reclaim safety, power and agency as you continue to exist within systems of oppression. I am here to support your own knowing - so you can hear yourself through the noise of white supremacy, patriarchy, heteronormativity, capitalism, and colonialism.
I work somatically and believe that our bodies can hold our feelings, memories, and even our ancestors' experiences. I also believe there is deep wisdom in our bodies to heal us and return us to ourselves. I enjoy working with folks who are wanting to address and heal historical and intergenerational trauma and do so at the pace of your safety.
