About My Clients

While I have developed a specialty in the treatment of trauma, I finds joy in working with a wide range of individuals and couples, including those seeking therapy for OCD, anxiety, depression, and relationship distress. My clients are typically those looking for a safe, supportive space where they can learn skills to better manage their lives, but more importantly can come to get to know and value themselves their authentic selves.

My Background and Approach

I strongly believe in the power of collaboration and partnership in the therapeutic process. My gentle and approachable style leaves space for clients to uncover hidden strengths, try new approaches to relating to others, and find their own voice. And while learning coping skills and applying new ways of being in the world are essential aspects of therapy, I believe that therapy can only be successful when clients can experience a sense of safety, trust, and warmth. I utilize a variety of treatments to best match my clients’ preferences, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), among others. To match my clients’ needs, I tailor these treatments in a flexible way to meet clients' individual preferences, histories, and personal styles.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

The basis of good therapy is a good match between the client and the therapist. If someone is going to go to scary or uncharted emotional places in therapy, then the client needs to feel in their bones that their co-pilot is a safe and reliable guide. I often encourage clients to meet with multiple therapists while finding the right one, because that sense of being a good fit is foundational to doing good work together. Over the years, I have found that the clients who have this sense of being a good match are those that are seeking a mixture of give and take in therapy. That is, they want both space to free-form explore their concerns and self, but they also want some guidance and feedback from their therapist. I find I fit best with those are looking to engage more authentically with themselves and others, and are curious about what may be happening for them.
