About My Clients
We all experiences periods of time where we feel hopeless, stuck, and unsure of a way to move forward. And whether you want to address specific concerns or process trauma, grief, or life transitions, I will work collaboratively with you to uncover patterns, internal stories, and roadblocks that hinder your movement towards healing and growth.
My Background and Approach
I operate from a person-centered perspective in working with clients. What this means is that I believe that you have both the skills and the potential for change in order to move towards achieving your goals. It also means that in our work together it is my responsibility to meet your experiences and authentic self with warmth, acceptance, and empathy. I endeavor to truly know and understand your personal history, your life right now, how you view the world, and how that all works together. We will work together to uncover and explore patterns and beliefs that inform how you move through the world. I view the role of therapist in our relationship as a collaborative partner in your journey towards your desired outcomes for counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As part of my commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppression work in counseling, I believe in the importance of understanding and exploring the ways in which your identities impact your relationship with privilege, power, experiences with oppression, and discrimination. I believe in body neutrality, I am affirming of non-monogamous, open, and poly relationship structures, I am affirming of all identities and of recognizing the impact of systems of oppression on individual healing. I am dedicated to doing my own personal ongoing work and learning as I believe this is necessary for me as a person and counselor.
