About My Clients

My clients are generally people in early to middle age of adulthood. I have many individuals from the LGBTQ community, people of color, and working professionals. People come to me for help processing childhood trauma, relationship issues, and managing stress or anxiety.

My Background and Approach

I have a wide array of personal life experiences, combined with nearly 2 decades of professional experience, education, and training. My educational background is in human development and social work. I enjoy learning to understand people as whole individuals with many different parts and influences in their lives. I strongly believe in the importance of early attachment and childhood experiences. Those early experiences have the ability to affect the way we connect with others and cope with stress in adulthood. I believe I am an effective counselor in helping people through life changes, struggles in relationships, dating, recovering and coping with trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I find great fulfillment in being a support person as people heal from their pasts, and I think it is important to share some of my personal stuff with you too. I am a very compassionate and forthcoming person. I find fulfillment in enjoying nature, exploring new places, indulging in delicious foods, reading, spending time with people, and staying active. I think that I am a very well-adjusted person now, but I have also spent many years in my own mental health recovery from childhood trauma. I understand how uncomfortable and scary it can be to confront the past. I believe that it wasn’t until I started that journey that I was able to start living in my full potential. I believe in mental health access for all people and part of my private practice is to partner with a non-profit to provide free therapy to women of color who have survived sexual abuse. I am also a volunteer work with an animal rescue, and I am currently training my rescue dog to be a therapy dog on the job with me.
