About My Clients
I love working with clients who have chosen alternative lifestyles, disenfranchised individuals, and those who face the stigma of being different! Facing stigma, prejudice, and judgemental ideologies can be traumatic. My Background and Approach
For many years I trained therapists as well as running my own private practice. Now I am focused solely on my work with clients. My approach is engaged and relies heavily on interventions with scientific support. I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Compassion Based Therapy. For trauma my strategies are Cognitive Processing Therapy utilized for all types of trauma including racial trauma and homophobia as well as childhood abuse traumas.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirited, Polyamorous, or the other countless affirmative ways in which people choose to self-identify is a basic human right. The rights of the disenfranchised and minorities have been challenged in our world. Activism to support those who are different is a focus of my private life as well as a focus of my career.
