About My Clients

People who like to work with me are ready for change and are seeking a more fulfilling life. You may not know what exactly needs to shift, but your circumstances are a call to deeper exploration...to deconstruct the ways of being that haven't been working for you and begin living life on your own terms. I tend to work with deep thinkers, spiritual types, black sheep, trauma survivors, and highly-sensitive people.

My Background and Approach

When I became a mom in 2006, I was forced to confront aspects of my childhood that were painful. This led me on a journey of self-discovery (a lifelong process) and I raised my emotional self as I raised my children. Supporting families as a birth doula for 15 years has given me a great understanding of the complexities faced during pregnancy and postpartum. Working with clients who had experienced birth trauma led me to pursue a career as a therapist. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 40's and have three neurodivergent children. I tend to be mystical, although I have deconstructed from organized religion. While I incorporate a variety of modalities and techniques in my work, at the core I am depth oriented and seek to increase conscious awareness of the inner life. Far beyond coping skills or behavior management, this work is deeply transformative as we go to the heart of the matter. I also offer Ketamine assisted therapy. I am inclusive, affirming, and committed to cultural humility.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The process of psychotherapy is about awakening to your true self & healing your wounded parts. From the moment we are born, we are taught how to fit in at home, at school, into other social/cultural groups we are part of, & how to fit in to broader cultural ideologies including those that promote the continuation of patriarchy, capitalism, white supremacy, & homophobia. We internalize all of these messages & unconsciously live by them until we realize that they aren't working for us. When we live our lives based on others' values & expectations, we lose touch with ourselves. Anxiety increases to keep you on that path of performance or you may start judging yourself for constantly not living up to everyone's standards. Happiness can never be achieved by striving to meet the standards of others. It comes from living your life from a place of authenticity. This path can be difficult as it often involves facing difficult experiences and relationships. It requires courage and commitment.
