My Background and Approach
I do both brief solution focused therapy and long term depth psychotherapy. My intuitive abilities and life experiences have given me invaluable insight and understanding of women from diverse cultures, sexual orientations, religions, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic groups. Years of study in various types of psychotherapy and mind/body healing have given me multiple tools from which to draw. These allow me to create a safe container for holding all the parts of you. I specialize in helping you heal the wounds of the past and build self-esteem and worth. Feeling empowered, your heart opens and you are able to love yourself and others. In addition to being a therapist, I have presented at National conferences, on the radio and to general audiences in person and on the radio speaking on the topics of sexuality, diversity, spirituality, clearing clutter, and parenting. I have a background as an actress and I am a published writer.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You hold within you the power to heal yourself and your relationships. I create a mindful, unconditionally loving, yet challenging, environment where it is safe for every part of you to grow. Therapy becomes a vessel, holding and healing your pain while honoring the specific needs of your body, mind and spirit. It is so important to actually be seen and heard. As your therapist I commit myself to be present for you. I am a witness as you present your challenges and talk about your life and longings. Most of us walk through life ignoring what we're thinking/feeling and not realizing how this has impacted our lives. As you uncover patterns that you have repeated, you can begin to see whether or not they have worked for you. In a state of mindfulness, you can start to focus on what is happening for you right now. As you become aware of your thoughts/feelings/body sensations, The old patterns no longer control you and you reinforce newer and healthier ways of being in the world.
