About My Clients

Are you a high achieving professional but underneath the surface you’re struggling with anxiety and negative voices constantly replaying the message that you’re not enough? Have you experienced traumas in the past that doesn’t seem to fade away with time, and you’re ready to finally experience true freedom from them? Do you feel conflicted in your bicultural identity and wonder where you belong? Do you wish you can find a way to reconcile the two worlds that you in?

My Background and Approach

It’s important to me that I work with clients as a team while providing a safe, non-judgmental space as they share their broken past, present struggles and future hopes. My style has been described as warm and empathetic. I strive to help clients gain not merely insight, which can be freeing at first, but more importantly a genuine desire to change from within. I have a special bent toward helping those whose lives have been significantly shaped by their traumatic experiences. I utilize mindfulness based practices as well as EMDR, which is an extensively researched form of therapy that has helped countless individuals to make breakthroughs. My work as a therapist began in California where I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology and worked extensively in community mental health since 2010 helping individuals to overcome chronic and debilitating issues.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Another therapeutic approach that I may utilize is the integration of one's Christian faith that can allow therapy to be more effective, which is something I myself have experienced in my own healing journey. But I welcome those from other faith backgrounds and completely respect those who wish to leave their faith at the door. I come from a unique background of spending my early childhood in South Korea and navigating the issues of adapting to a new culture after immigrating to the United States. I'm also passionate about raising awareness about the importance of therapy and destigmatizing mental illness in Asian American communities.
