About My Clients
Traumatic experiences can be hard to bounce back from. There's the hypervigilance, the deep sadness, and the overwhelming anger. It can make life feel unmanageable. This inner wound that you didn't deserve doesn't have to be a life sentence of pain and suffering. There is hope. I specialize in helping people heal and resolve trauma within their minds and bodies. I've seen my clients grow from being haunted by what happened to them to living an empowered life on their terms.
My Approach to Helping
Clients come to me looking for an open, honest, and judgement-free space to heal from their trauma. I provide skillful body-based therapy that goes deeper than talk-based therapy. Body-based therapy creates the opportunity for trapped trauma energy to be released from the body and resolved in the mind. This freed up internal space makes way for inner wisdom and resiliency so that you can live the life that you deserve, unburdened by the things you've been through. I am an LPC in Houston TX. I earned my Bachelors degree in psychology and my Masters degree in clinical mental health counseling. I then completed a 3 and a half year post-graduate fellowship where I received specialized training in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I now own and operate my practice called Grounded In Truth Counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life can be REALLY hard at times. This is our reality and a part of what it means to be human. From my perspective people aren't broken or need fixing. We're just human...with all of our experiences and what we bring to the table. Anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship difficulties don't have to define us. I wholeheartedly believe in the resiliency of the human spirit to provide healing and comfort through life’s toughest moments. I’ve witnessed the self-empowerment that arises from a person working through the “stuff” that holds them back. I’ve seen people be able to lead the authentic life they’ve always dreamed of. For some, it’s a life they never thought was possible.
