About My Clients
Are your children displaying challenges with emotions, relating to others or adjusting to their school environment? I work with children and teens with an emphasis on Autism, developmental delays, ADHD and anxiety. I’ve seen how important a sense of security and belonging is for optimal growth and development. This can include difficulty regulating emotions, impulsive behaviors and other mental health concerns that can negatively affect interacting with others.
My Background and Approach
I help with sensory issues, meltdowns, aggression, shutting down, self-esteem, difficulty making friends and family stress. I use a variety of methods including sand tray, ABA and play therapy that work with the whole child as they work on managing difficult emotions, tolerating stressful situations, decreasing sensory overload, and improving social skills. As your child learns to better understand and regulate their physical urges, their emotional messages and their mental narrative and how those patterns negatively impact their daily life, they can become empowered to make necessary changes. In this way I believe we can transform even our greatest challenges into our superpower.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I focus on looking at the whole person and the uniqueness of each individual. I partner with clients to dispel beliefs about themselves that have limited their ability to fully realize their goals. I look at where clients are focusing their thoughts, how that may be having a negative impact on their mindset, and work to shift that mindset to be more confident and productive. I have experience in a variety of settings and modalities including ABA therapy. My approach is optimistic and I focus on the human capacity to overcome hardships, pain and despair. Together we can embrace each situation in a warm, safe and accepting therapeutic environment. I believe that everyone has strengths and that even our greatest challenges can become our greatest power.
