My Background and Approach
I’m not just a talk therapist. I use techniques beyond traditional talk therapy to tap into the parts of you that aren't always accessible through words. I am a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, and I incorporate aspects of mindfulness, parts work and emotional freedom technique into my practice. I offer both traditional 50-55 min EMDR sessions, as well as 90-120 minute EMDR intensives, which accelerate your therapeutic progress. Please visit my website to learn more.
Why I Became a Therapist
Becoming a therapist is my calling, but it took my own therapy and soul searching to realize I needed to turn my ship around to pursue my dream career of becoming a therapist in my own private practice. I had worked on the corporate side of health care for over 15 years, both in the hospital and health insurance sectors. While these jobs were rewarding in many ways, I felt I wasn’t fulfilling my deep-seated purpose in these roles. After doing my own therapy and self-work, I developed the courage to make the life-changing decision to go back to school and pursue my dreams of becoming a therapist. It was challenging, but it was worth it 😊.
