About My Clients
My clients are individuals who are experiencing difficult life circumstances which contribute to high levels of stress and anxiety. Many find that the anxiety interferes with their ability to function well or live the life they want to live. I enjoy helping clients find a way to embrace themselves despite their circumstances, and learn more effective ways of handling stress. I also specialize in helping couples struggling with infertility, pregnancy loss, or adjusting to life after birth.
My Background and Approach
My approach is very client-centered in that I individualize treatment to your needs. This often involved taking several sessions just to get to know you and what's important to you. Following this, we will identify together specific changes that need to happen, and a plan for making this happen. I provide education and practical tools for you to incorporate into everyday life, while also addressing bigger picture concerns that may take longer to address. I have specialized training in treating PTSD/trauma-related disorders, issues of spirituality/faith, perinatal mental health and reproductive mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In an effort to spread the word about available mental health services for people interested in beginning or expanding their family, I serve as the co-chair of Postpartum Support International-Florida state chapter. PSI offers many free resources to the community and also invests in training medical and mental health professionals in best practices for perinatal mental health concerns (including postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and psychosis).
