You may be feeling overwhelmed, not enough, or falling into constant comparisons with others. Together, we will find your calm and happiness
Mental Health Counselor in DeWitt, NY
From high school to college, living at home to living independently, leaning on your parents for support to supporting yourself with just your career and your wits. Life transitions can bring about many feelings and comparisons to those around us. I have worked with both millenials and middle-aged individuals to forge their own path in life and feel confident in the decisions that have led them there.
Relationships can be complex, full of turmoil, or frustrating. But, they do not have to be. By working through our own "stuff", we can be the best person possible in our relationship and work to have them be the source of comfort, trust, and companionship that we desire. I have worked with both individuals and couples on improving specific and non-specific goals in relationships that lead to both parties 'just feeling better' about their part in their relationship.
Anxiety is all around us. We may feel it sporadically, or we may feel it all day, everyday. Anxiety was initially our body's way of warning us of danger, but are we running ourselves ragged convincing ourselves that danger is all around us? Anxiety is not a comfortable feeling to sit with day in and day out. I work with individuals to find the root causes of their anxiety and develop coping skills to reduce the uncomfortable distress that anxiety can often lead to.
Therapy is one of the few places that is truly, 100% about you. I seek to maintain the preservation of therapy and focus treatment on your shared goals. Your process of therapy will not look or feel like anyone else's, and that is okay! Let's tailor your therapy to you.
Our behaviors lie in our thoughts, which can feel difficult to overcome. By utilizing CBT, I seek to help you understand thought patterns that may not be serving you and use these altered thought patterns to improve our behaviors.
I have worked with relationships of all types and backgrounds, but the goal remains the same; to be happy. Together, we will seek to understand what brought the relationship together initially, explore when things began to feel 'not okay', and what each person perceives as a 'good' and 'happy' relationship.
