My own innate curiosity and desire to continue to evolve as an individual combined with my clinical experience helping others cultivate growth and transition makes this a rich area for me to work in with clients. I love helping others move towards the personal growth that unfolds from having roots more deeply planted in awareness and authenticity.
I am experienced leading group counseling for women working on improving their relationships with self and others and have worked with individuals across the lifespan on issues impacting women's emotional health, including trauma healing, navigating life transitions, sexuality, creating and communicating boundaries, navigating existential questions, motherhood, processing grief and loss, and increasing self-compassion.
I am training in providing trauma-informed care, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a trauma-processing intervention. Helping clients to connect to a greater sense of safety and wellbeing is a deeply meaningful part of my therapeutic work.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences by using bilateral stimulation to release deeply stored emotions and memories. I am constantly amazed at the power of the modality and the peace I have seen it bring to clients who have long-struggled to let go of fear, anxiety, and confusion.
Rather than focusing on a narrow problem, my counseling approach centers on fostering a greater sense of self-awareness. This includes exploring the connections between body, mind, and spirit or sense of meaning-making. Breathwork, guided meditation, Emotional Freedom Technique, and parts work are tools I might incorporate in our work together, though sessions are personalized to client goals and individual needs.
I have a long-standing interest in contemplative practices and expanded states of consciousness. I enjoy working with clients wanting to integrate transpersonal experiences and translate them into lasting healing and growth.
