About My Clients
I work with adult women and couples who want to heal emotional stress and unhealthy relationship patterns; learn effective coping & communication skills; and adjust to a big life transition. I am the therapist for people who want a Christian therapist but not "Christian counseling". My clients appreciate that I understand their religious background and how it affects their mental health. I specialize in working with clients through spiritual struggles, religious trauma and faith deconstruction.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in dialectical behavior therapy, which blends mindfulness meditation, interpersonal skills, and emotion regulation skills to help you improve your mood, reduce stress, and get along better with others. I am completing Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and have extensive experience in couples and sex therapy. I can help you improve all aspects of intimacy in marriage. I specialize in women's mental health, including pregnancy/postpartum, motherhood, relationships, self-esteem, boundaries, identity, and sexuality. In therapy, I help you get your head, heart, and body aligned so you can live a life congruent with your values and beliefs. Living from an authentic place allows you to have better relationships, a more stable sense of self, and improved mood. You don't have to stay stuck. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I specialize in integrating Christian faith in therapy. Most of my clients come from a Christian background and want someone who is familiar with their beliefs, but not necessarily a "Christian counselor." I let you decide if you want to talk about your faith in therapy. In addition to my role as a therapist, I write, speak, and coach on the topics of purity culture recovery, religious trauma, and faith deconstruction. I am passionate about gender equality and women's empowerment. I do not push my beliefs and values onto my clients, but help you explore and make choices congruent with your own values.
