Whether it’s anxiety, or panic attacks, that you’re experiencing, therapy can help! As your therapist I will teach you new tools to manage your anxiety, as well as exploring what causes the anxiety/panic in the first place. By using several techniques we will get the anxiety under control so it’s no longer controlling you.
Depression is heavy and it sucks you in. You lose all motivation, your thoughts are full of negativity, and you feel hopeless to change it. Therapy can help! As your therapist I will teach you new tools, explore the root of your depression, and together we will process through your feelings or events that may be perpetuating your depression.
Life transitions are HARD! Life happens and we have to adjust, but that isn’t always easy. Sometimes we need help finding our way through these changes and navigating through the feelings that come up. Even positive events like a big move, job change, or new relationships can create feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, or feeling overwhelmed. Even retirement, maybe we think it’s going to be great, but then when we retire it’s nothing like we imagined it would be.
I use Solution Focused Brief therapy as a strength based approach, and instead of spending time discussing the problem we really focus on identifying solutions. This is a great approach for someone looking for new techniques to try, and looking for brief therapy.
I use play and art therapy with children and teenagers, as children learn through experiential play. Using play and art therapy we are able to process feelings and events, as well as learn new tools and strategies. I also meet with parents to go over parent training skills and behavioral modification strategies.
Our thoughts are powerful; they impact how we feel and how we behave in the world. We explore together the thoughts that serve you well, and identify the ones that don’t so we can create change.
