About My Clients
My practice focuses primarily on: mood disorders (ie. depression, low mood, bipolar), anxiety disorders (ie. generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks), low self-esteem, neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, high functioning autism, 2e/gifted/Twice Exceptional), life transitions, young adults, social skills, interpersonal skills, and more. I also work with parents who are looking to gain understanding into their child’s emotional/behavioral needs and how to respond in a helpful way.
My Background and Approach
Therapy with me is productive, but low pressure. We have conversations, learn about each other, and bounce ideas around. I treat clients with respect and patience, and I embrace each person as an individual. I bring my full self into the room and I have a playful sense of humor that often comes out in the therapeutic work. I learn about your life leading up to this moment and identify how that may have shaped what is happening in the present. I encourage mindfulness, living in the present, and self-acceptance. I have experience working with panic disorders, anxiety, depression, life stressors, social/interpersonal skills, ADHD, the gifted/2e community, those who feel a drop in motivation due to feeling unstimulated or challenged, philosophical thinkers, young adults who are uncertain about future steps, and neurodiverse populations. I previously supervised the psychosocial team at a private school for 2e tweens and teens, along with a background in private practice and group therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the right to choose how they live and experience the world, and I am genuinely interested in understanding how you process the experiences and relationships in your life. This speaks to my existential approach, while borrowing elements of psychodynamic therapy to gain a thorough understanding of what has shaped you. Sometimes we can grow to accept parts of our lives that cause pain, and in accepting those things, we may find peace. The human condition can be complicated, but it can also be celebrated. I am open-minded, inclusive, and accepting of all forms of life.
