My Background and Approach
I have worked with many to correct negative thoughts, to talk back to limiting or hurtful self talk, and to find and live the highest version of themselves they could imagine. I offer a SAFE non-judgmental space for you to explore yourself, process what hurts , and learn skills to improve your life – to make space for what seemed to be an impossible dream. I have earned a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling with a Post Graduate Specialization in Trauma, Abuse & Deprivation Assessment and Treatment. I have also earned a Masters Degree in Human Resources, and Post Graduate Specialization in Substance Abuse Assessment and Treatment. Added to my experience in business, I can lend my skills to workplace or employee needs as well. I am extremely collaborative and will contribute my skills and experience as tools while you uncover the person you can be, and all the solutions and skills to get you there.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
After years of working with people professionally, and being one among people personally, I have finally gotten good at a skill it took a long time to master. Authenticity. Fake Kevin doesn't cut it. Not for me, definitely not for you. For me to be the full, rich, and magical human being that we all really are eventually required me to be the same Kevin from the time I wake, until its bedtime once more. I used to try to appear "professional" by trying to follow rules that just sounded right at the time. Rules everyone else seemed to know and I didn't. Rules like "leave work at work, and home at home". Secretly inside I felt like the same me wherever I was. Others counseled me to "try harder" or to "clarify my goals". I thought I needed them to tell me how to cram myself into what everyone else seemed to think was the best Kevin. Didn't work. Now, I rely on real Kevin. I uncovered the me who lives and loves with appropriate boundaries & some dreams... all day, no matter where or what.
