About My Clients

I frequently have the opportunity to work with people who struggle with feeling “good enough”, who struggle with feeling like they are “doing enough”, or who struggle with relaxing. I specialize in working with concerns related to anxiety, trauma, pregnancy & postpartum, life transitions, motherhood, LGBTQ+ wellness, and stress. Over the years, I’ve noticed that I tend to work well with individuals who have experienced childhood emotional neglect, perfectionism, and identity struggles.

My Background and Approach

My career has given me opportunities to work in a variety of therapeutic settings including private practice, nonprofits, hospital units, and school systems. These experiences have helped shape me into the clinician and person I am today. I make it a priority to ensure that our work together honors all aspects of your identity, including your background, race, culture, religious views, gender, sexuality, and more. In working with me, you will encounter a therapist who is trauma-competent, racial-justice-allied, queer-friendly, and neurodiverse. My therapy approach is informed by my advanced training in trauma therapy techniques, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), as well as behavioral techniques, such as Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP/EXRP). I operate from a relational attachment perspective and often integrate somatic and mindfulness-based techniques into my work as well.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a compassionate, understanding approach and strive to help others feel at ease. I know how scary it can be to seek help. I used to think my problems were not “bad enough” for therapy or that I “should” be able to figure this all out on my own. As it turns out, therapy helped me unlearn some of these unhelpful beliefs and truly improved my relationships with others and with myself, among other things. Sometimes the hardest part is taking the first step. Regardless of what brought you here, therapy is an incredible space to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, help you move forward from past painful experiences, and help you make meaningful changes in your life. Things really can and will get better. Please reach out to me for a complimentary phone consultation so we can create the space you deserve to figure out what’s next.
