About My Clients
My clients seek a collaborative approach to therapy and are hoping to be a more well-balanced version of themselves. We are all human and sometimes need support in navigating our confusing, overwhelming thoughts and emotions. As my client, you are the expert on your unique life and are willing to share your story with me.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with people from diverse populations (minorities, LGBTQI+), and my specialties include: gerontology, military mental health, and coping with chronic illnesses. I believe that all individuals should be empowered and inspired to improve their emotional wellbeing. By recognizing healthy coping strategies and processing emotions, I hope that we can work together to meet your mental health goals. Together, we will create an individualized treatment plan that will allow us to work towards your goals. I can incorporate therapeutic techniques such as: Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based empowerment. If you're needing support with processing trauma, I also have background in addressing medical trauma, moral injury, combat-related PTSD, and other complex emotional traumas.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, my goal is to assist clients in addressing stressors and challenges that may be impacting their lives. To one degree or another, we are all human and can experience anxiety, sadness, grief/loss, trauma, and lowered self-esteem. I believe that therapy should work to enhance a client’s ability to cope with these emotions, as well as improve the client’s relationship with his/her/themself. Self-love with self-compassion is key to mental wellness, and I am passionate about helping people incorporate these ideals into their lives. I believe that it takes a lot of courage to work through your emotional complexities and as your counselor, I will be there to guide and support you.
