About My Clients

Feeling disconnected from your partner? Stuck in the same frustrating arguments? I understand the pain of losing that closeness and the struggle to break free from negative cycles. You deserve a relationship where trust, communication, and intimacy are strong. Using evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, I’ll help you break these patterns and rebuild your bond. Together, we can create lasting change and foster the deeper connection and fulfillment you’re seeking.

My Background and Approach

In my work with couples, I begin by focusing on practical skills that offer immediate improvement, such as conflict resolution and communication, using the Gottman Method. These foundational tools help you navigate daily challenges with more ease and understanding. Once these skills are in place, we move into deeper work using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) to break negative cycles and strengthen your emotional bond. My approach is structured to address both the practical and emotional aspects of your relationship. First, we equip you with the tools to manage conflicts more effectively. Then, we explore the underlying emotional dynamics that may be keeping you stuck, helping you both express your needs and emotions in ways that build trust and intimacy. This two-phase approach ensures that we create lasting change while deepening the connection between you and your partner.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the power of healing and growth within relationships. My passion is in helping couples and families repair and strengthen their bonds through justice, reconciliation, and equity. I am deeply committed to unlearning unhealthy patterns and building healthier, more supportive connections. Equity is a guiding principle in my work—I believe everyone deserves the chance to feel valued, understood, and empowered in their relationships. Along with my therapy practice, I am involved in training the next generation of therapists as a professor at Seattle Pacific University, where I teach marriage and family therapy. This role allows me to give back to the field and help future therapists support couples and families in their journeys. If you’d like to learn more or start your journey toward healthier relationships, feel free to send me a message—I’d love to connect.
