About My Clients
My practice has focused on family therapy, post-traumatic processing and growth for families and individuals, relationship building, developing adaptive strategies to manage chaotic or unpredictable environments, and supporting individuals and families through various developmental periods and life transitions. Due to my background and life experiences, I work with people exploring issues around identity, acculturation, cross-cultural issues, and self-integration.
My Background and Approach
I have 16 years of clinical experience. I have gained most of my experience through the child and welfare system, school-based services, and residential treatment. The best way to describe my working style is Depth-oriented, using a systemic lens to address life goals and strengthen relational capacity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. We live in a time of paradox. The human population is at a peak. Ease of communication and access to technological advances grant us constant contact with loved ones across the nation or the globe, an ability to seek and find virtual communities of like-minded individuals, and the ability to communicate at all times of day or night through various devices and means. And yet, there’s a rise in self-medicating, increased depression and anxiety, a decrease in life satisfaction, and a diminished sense of meaning and purpose. These challenges are reflected in an increased conflict in marriages, friendships, families, schools, workspaces, and communities. My work is about helping people reconnect with themselves, build a life of meaning, and improve their connection with others. A holistic approach that attends to the individuals and the soil (environment) in which they are planted.
