About My Clients

Do you feel pretty different from most people? Do you notice or wonder about things around you other folks generally don’t? Do you feel angry, sad, confused or fired up about your life, your community or the world? Well, same. I can help you make sense of all that. Let's explore the who, what, when, where, why and how of your life, your lineage and your legacy. You CAN be the person you want to be - and live the life you want to live - in a world you want to be in.

My Background and Approach

I'm on a lifelong journey of both accepting sharp sensitivities and transforming them into meaningful actions I can get behind every day. So that you can do the same, I'll follow your lead or gently guide you to talk directly about your life, and cultivate your mindfulness of thoughts, images, feelings and sensations, especially when your sensitivities relate closely to anxiety, depression, grief or trauma. I trained in clinical social work because it aligns with my systemically anti-oppressive values, my history organizing for collective liberation, and my personal endeavors to square my minoritized identities (e.g., Jewish, neurodivergent, gender-non-conforming, Leftist) with my privileged identities (e.g., assigned male at birth, socialized as a man, racialized as white, classified as temporarily non-disabled, socially rewarded for mono- and heteronormativity). In short, I want to get free and I want to help you do that, too.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe love is the richest soil for anything new. I believe life is a journey from not knowing to knowing, and that hardships often come from knowing the life we want but being blocked from it one way or another. I believe my work as a therapist can be revolutionary if I can help clients participate in radical collective direct action for change. That’s a big reason I go to therapy myself, and why I participate in institutionalized trainings as well as self-organized radical educational groups. I want to maintain the life-affirming connections to people and places I’ve long held dear, especially now that I offer my own connective energy, empathy and enthusiasm professionally as a therapist. Beyond therapy, I'm into dance, rock climbing, and public performance art.
