About My Clients

Are you overwhelmed by trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, or depression? Maybe you have questions about your or a loved ones journey with gender or sexuality and are feeling stuck, lost, or confused. Perhaps you noticing some similarities that align with the autistic or ADHD experience. Or, maybe, you need a starting place to examine where you exist within an increasingly challenging society and how you are impacted by it. If you feel that you are at the end, we can find a new beginning.

My Background and Approach

My formal studies have varied considerably, and have included psychology, gender and women studies, sexuality, and ethics. My psychological training was existentialist, which is a fancy way of saying that I studied what it means to find meaning while moving through life’s biggest issues, to exist in relation to other humans, and what it means to struggle. I now focus on trauma, sex-positive therapy, neurodivergence, and the queer community, using an attachment framework at the core. We will use a wide array of tools to help with the pain points of your past. I often find that looking at our core belief systems surrounding these issues can be profoundly impactful, and the tools that we use to access this vary greatly and include talk therapies such as CBT, embodied approaches like somatic work, or neurobiological treatments such as EMDR. As we move forward I will tailor a treatment plan unique to you and your case, which I consider an evolving conversation between you and I.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am an open member of the LGBTQ community, and have a rich history of activism within various movements that target the oppressions that minorities face and the power structures that maintain such systems. Having done this work - along with clinical roles in community mental health and crisis telephone work - I consider myself well-versed and able to assist with many issues. I believe that supporting the communities that are pathologized by society at large is the most ethical work that I can do as a therapist, and is why you see a range in the fees that I charge. I recognize that while symptoms reside in the individual, they are often caused by the larger institutions that they exist within. It is important that we heal from within the margins, and I believe the impacts of this to be greatly restorative to communities at large. I always encourage clients to inquire early about sliding fee slots as they can fill up fast.
