About My Clients
I often see high-achieving college students, young adults, parents, and professionals who experience anxiety, depression, guilt, shame, codependency, infidelity, lack of fulfillment, are adult children of alcoholics or emotionally immature parents, are recovering from trauma, dealing with relationship difficulties, struggle with self-esteem, or are adjusting to life transitions including parenthood or career changes. My clients tend to have strong clinical outcomes as a result of our work.
My Background and Approach
Therapy can be a profound journey of healing and personal growth. I am a board-certified psychoanalytic, integrative psychotherapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate complex emotions, challenging experiences, and significant life transitions. I offer a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to explore your thoughts and feelings, uncover unconscious patterns, and develop adaptive ways of thinking, behaving, and relating. We are motivated by forces that we are not always aware of. If you want to understand why you feel stuck, looking back at early life is a powerful way to understand how you've come to expect what you expect and why you repeat certain patterns. In addition to using a psychodynamic approach I also integrate other therapeutic modalities. Before private practice I was affiliated with Georgetown University Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. I completed postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
What happens early in life sets a certain kind of patterning; it sets the stage for how we process everything that happens later. By understanding these experiences, we can gain deeper insight into our current struggles and develop more effective coping strategies. In my work with patients I have seen strong clinical outcomes, helping my clients achieve lasting change and improved well-being. Deciding to begin therapy can be difficult. Finding a therapist who is the right match for you is essential. I invite you to contact me for an initial consultation to learn more about my practice, philosophy, and background.
