About My Clients
I understand that everyone sometimes encounters obstacles in their lives that seem insurmountable. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that allows each client to reach their full potential. I will work with you to address your symptoms and help you to rediscover your inner strengths to deal more effectively with your life's challenges and to guide you in the development of new life skills.
My Background and Approach
In 2007, I earned my PhD in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University (AIU) in San Diego, CA. My research on trauma and deafness was honored with the F. Joseph McGuigan Dissertation Award at AIU. I hold certification as an EMDR clinician and consultant by EMDRIA, and I'm credentialed as a National Health Service Provider in Psychology. Beyond EMDR, I am trained in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Somatic Experiencing (SE), with additional accreditation as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each person is unique and therefore deserves an individual approach to therapy. Through a process of empathy and understanding, I strive to help my clients make changes in their lives that are consistent with who they are. I also use many evidence based treatment approaches in order to help my clients improve themselves, their relationships, and careers. My services include short and long-term psychotherapy for individuals. I do not provide couple's counseling.
