About My Clients

Clients who benefit from working with me have wanted to work on some aspect of themselves, like improving their sense of self worth, finding their own voice, trying to understand why their relationships typically don't work out, or simply just trying to cope with the day to day. I welcome all walks of life in my virtual office and work hard to continually check my biases, decolonize my practice, and reduce harmful language.

My Background and Approach

My method of therapy is to meet you where you are at and go from there. I have training in a variety of institutional approaches, such as CBT and solution-focused therapy; but, through the years, I have discovered the language and philosophy of DBT to be immensely beneficial in my own personal life as well as in my professional work. I self-identify as neurodivergent and find the structure of DBT as well as its practicality to be helpful in a variety of scenarios. That being said, I am not the type of person to push my own agenda on you. I believe first and foremost in "do no harm", emphasizing the importance of informed consent in every interaction we have. I will not utilize any approach without your say-so. This also includes my more "new age" practices, such as tarot/card readings, crafting rituals, and mindful meditation. While there has been a renewed interest in new age modalities, I am also wary of trends that can be co-opted to harm. So, consent is always a must in our work!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I self-identify as neurodivergent (ADHD), bisexual, and a "hedge and home" witch. I advocate for body neutral, gender-affirming language and am regularly self-checking my implicit biases for socially conditioned patterns of harmful language and ideologies. While many come to therapy to change, the process of getting there is just as - if not more so - valuable in and of itself; or to put another way, "it's not the destination, but the journey...". In my work, I see myself as a tour guide on a walking trail, pointing out all the shrubs, flowers, and critters that may get overlooked. I will sometimes pause mid-conversation to turn our attention towards something interesting happening in the conversation itself that you might not have noticed in the moment. On the other hand, I am not an "authority" figure on you or your self exploration. I am here to listen with care and collaborate with you on where you want (or need) to go in life.
