About My Clients
To anybody interested in embarking on their mental health journey, I am here for you! I am open to working with anybody who wants their voice to be heard and listened to. Nobody has the same voice/experience, so why not diversify the clients I work with? From my counseling experience thus far, I have worked with clients who experienced trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, life adjustments, identity exploration, and chronic stress. Whatever you need, I am willing to help in the best way I can!
My Background and Approach
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student at Northwestern University in their CACREP Master’s program and a Practicum Trainee at Waves Holistic Healing in Illinois. Counseling empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals (ACA, 2014). I embody these characteristics by furthering my education in the field, practicing competently and ethically, and referring to my supervisors for assistance. A few approaches that I am exploring and practicing in sessions include psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. Soon, I will become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and later as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I may be a counselor in training, but I am intentional in how I deliver my services and fulfill my client’s needs. I will continue to be an advocate for my client's mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Human beings are social creatures. Thus, I believe that there is power in sharing your voice with others to build awareness, work through concerns, and fulfill dreams/desires. My goal as a counselor is to provide that space of exploration for clients of all ages. Please Note: All sessions are completed through telehealth. When checking your insurance for session coverage, you should search the network for my supervisor, Megan, instead of my name.
