About My Clients
I am an openly queer licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC). I believe that having a space to explore one's identity is essential to mental well-being. I primarily work with adults around sexuality or gender identity, anxiety, depression, OCD, neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD), trauma, and relationship concerns. I work with monogamous, ENM, and poly couples.
My Background and Approach
I have worked with a variety of clients from diverse backgrounds during almost five years of counseling experience. My counseling background has primarily focused on LGBTQ+ issues with concerns related to anxiety, depression, safety, relationships, and self-esteem. As a queer-identified person, I am passionate about working with this population and providing a safe and affirming space. I have worked with clients to address personal, emotional, professional, environmental, systematic, and relational stressors. My primary approach to counseling is an integration of cognitive-behavioral, EMDR, and somatic approaches. I believe that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and increasing the mind-body connection is essential to my counseling process. This allows the client and counselor to develop an empathic and non-judgemental relationship to improve one's well-being. I aim to provide a safe, affirming, and empowering space for clients to process and make progress.
More About the People I Treat
I utilize Attachment-Based and neuroaffirming approaches when working with individuals and couples. I work with monogamous, ENM, and poly couples. During couples work, I prioritize balancing between identifying strengths in the relationship and developing tools for addressing areas of concern. I enjoy working with individuals and couples around executive dysfunction and exploring accommodations for improving task initiation, emotion regulation, goal setting, accountability/follow-through, and stress management strategies.
