Using a holistic approach and a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, I help individuals heal from trauma and develop a greater sense of self-awareness and empowerment. We will focus on understanding the impact of early relational trauma on the nervous system and how it may be affecting your ability to form and maintain healthy connections. Through a combination of talk therapy, somatic (body-based) techniques, and mindfulness practices, we will develop new ways to relate.

Much of the way we currently relate to ourselves and others is formed in our early childhood and primary relationships. While it's not necessary (or even a good idea) to excavate our early memories, we will explore how the strategies you developed to make the most of your early life may still be active and holding you back from the life you most want.

Using a combination of mindfulness and self-compassion we will explore what is at the root of your anxiety.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is a therapeutic modality for trauma and attachment issues. NARM is a cutting-edge model for addressing attachment, relational and developmental trauma, by working with the attachment patterns that cause life-long psychobiological symptoms and interpersonal difficulties. These early, unconscious patterns of disconnection deeply affect our identity, emotions, physiology, behavior and relationships. Learning how to work simultaneously with these diverse elements is a radical shift that has profound clinical implications for healing complex trauma.

Mindfulness-based therapies use meditation, relaxation and awareness exercises to help focus on the present moment, aiming over time to experience day to day situations and stressors in nonjudgmental and non-reactionary ways. This approach is a helpful counter for anxiety, which tends to have a ruminative emphasis on past concerns and future worries. A key feature of mindfulness is acceptance rather than avoiding, ignoring, or suppressing negative internal experiences.
