About My Clients
I am passionate about providing a space for people to be celebrated for being their authentic selves. I honor and respect the strategies clients have learned that support them in coping and surviving. Together, we can develop more awareness of how these coping strategies and patterns serve you, and when it is supportive, work to find new ways of relating with yourself and others.
My Background and Approach
My approach is relational; it is informed by the healing and motivating power of building loving and trusting connections. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed, harm reduction, and liberation psychology. I am also informed by disability justice and I work with clients to explore the impacts of ableism and sanism. I am critical of power structures and how they impact our relationships and the ways we navigate the world. Our experiences of trauma and oppression cannot be detached from the daily systemic violence of white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy. I believe therapy is a space to practice bringing awareness to these impacts. It is through unpacking harmful beliefs that we find ways to resist them and find healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm an anti-capitalist and anti-zionist/anti-fascist therapist. I believe in the necessity of building systems of care outside of oppressive institutions and I am active in mutual aid efforts in the East Bay. I recognize that therapy is an important tool to cope and heal, and that ultimately we need community care and to abolish the systems that are designed to keep us in constant states of survival. I am a Covid conscious therapist and I am in solidarity with clients experiencing the alienation and grief that comes with navigating this time. I’m an out-of-network provider, but I can provide a superbill which can be submitted for reimbursement from most PPO plans. My sliding scale slots are full at this time and I will update this page as sliding scale slots become available.
