About My Clients
As a therapist, I value being able to provide a safe space for clients to be able to make the therapeutic experience into whatever they feel is most beneficial to them. I ascribe to the notion that you are the one that knows yourself best, and I want to be a guiding light to help you grow and develop as a person. I believe that helping clients with developing their coping skills and recognizing their self-worth can be helpful in dealing with some of the challenges they face.
My Background and Approach
As a person-centered therapist, my work also integrates a mindfulness approach to help clients connect with their here and now. I believe that helping clients stay grounded in their current place helps to instill growth and change in the therapeutic setting. I enjoy being able to work with teens and helping them navigate the difficulties of maturity and identity development. I also have extensive experience working with populations such as the LGBTQ+ community, foster youth, homeless youth, and sexual trauma. Some other areas of interest include: complex trauma, grief and loss, and identity development.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a person that also identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community, I find it incredibly important to be able to provide psychotherapy as someone that may have some understanding of the struggles that other queer individuals deal with on a daily basis.
