About My Clients
My work centers around adults who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, work stress, and/or relationships and boundaries. I love working with clients who are wanting a change and are uncertain of where or how to start the process.
My Background and Approach
I earned my BA in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and my MSW from the University of Washington. Prior to attaining my MSW, I worked as an advocate and case manager for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. While in graduate school I completed practicum placements at a local eating disorder program and an outpatient clinic focused on trauma recovery. After graduating with my MSW, I worked as an individual and group therapist at the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care before starting my private practice. I take an eclectic approach to therapy and draw from a range of evidence-based techniques tailored to help my clients meet their goals. I prioritize building and maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, while also emphasizing the role of other important relationships, their personal history, and their values.
My Values as a Therapist
I strive to connect my most important values of connection, compassion, and justice in every area of my work. Connecting with my clients and their values, experiences, and goals is vital in the work I do, and something that is part of my broader desire for justice at the individual, community, and societal level. Feeling safe is not something that is accessible to everyone, but my hope is to foster a safer therapeutic space for my clients.
