About My Clients

Feeling overwhelmed, burned out and at your wit's end? I'm here to improve that through healing from the past, embracing change, identifying strengths that were always there, as well as gain new confidence. I understand unique challenges for those of us who identify with immigrant families, or have First-Generation pressures, similar to myself. I enjoy challenging clients who intellectualize emotions and know how to "push through," and are ready to try something different.

My Background and Approach

I have a variety of approaches and tools that come from many years of experience in individual, group and couples therapy. I have a strong background working with survivors of adult and childhood trauma. I enjoy helping people regain confidence and explore grief with physical health changes. I specialize in working with people across the spectrum of family changes, from fertility challenges, infant loss, and anxiety and depression for all parents from pregnancy onward. I enjoy providing education on attachment theory and helping clients to understand their own attachment styles, as well as identify patterns in relationships that we want to improve. My goal is to give clients strong tools, and guide them through practice to be able to move through life with knowledge and skills to manage the bumps in the road.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

While I recognize that life changes are inevitable, the related challenges of self-blame, self-doubt and insecurity can create overwhelming loneliness, anxiety and depression. I want to provide support, reassurance and skills to my clients to know that what they are going through is not their fault, they are not weak or inadequate, but the situation makes us feel that at times. I am here to help recognize the situational challenges, our strengths and figure out how to regain our sense of power. I have a personal understanding of experiences of trauma and anxiety as a First-Generation Indian/American, and have a strong understanding of many other cultures due to close relationships, travel and experience teaching abroad. We all deserve to have a culturally competent provider who understands our culture, without the client having to be the culture teacher, and is able to relate to those unique challenges.
