About My Clients
You're living the life you're working hard for and maybe in a relationship that fits the bill, but you feel deep down that something's off, like you’re living someone else’s story. Your inner world doesn't quite match the outside—inside, you feel overwhelmed, down, and not enough, and in this world, maybe different and othered. You crave to be listened to non-judgmentally, be fully seen and accepted, and ultimately have a loving and healthy relationship with yourself and those around you.
My Background and Approach
The qualities that inform my experience and work: being bicultural as a Chinese American immigrant from (British colony) Hong Kong, a daughter of a father who was absent and then disappeared, neurodivergent, introverted, and empathic; I'm also a practicing artist. I strive to offer a supportive, caring, and affirming space for you to explore, heal, and grow. I will hold non-judgmental space for all the parts of you, and value you as a whole human and the cultural backgrounds that you come from, whether they are different from or similar to mine. We will explore and make connections—between your childhood and its impact on you today, and between feelings and body. And rather than focusing on deficits, we will access the resilience and strengths that are already within you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change and growth are possible at anytime in our lives, and that it is from a place of feeling seen, understood, and worthy, that change can begin to take meaningful shape. I believe that oppression is real and detrimental, and that it is possible to become self-aware and unlearn those internalized oppressive narratives that disempower us. In cultures where completely cutting ties with family is not an option, I understand the need to navigate the relationships in a way that lets us stay connected without abandoning ourselves. I believe that we all deserve the opportunity to tap into our truth and authenticity, and to thrive, not just survive! As a cishet woman of color, queer ally, and artist, I make it a point to engage in anti-oppression work within myself and participate in workshops, healing circles, marches, and other community events that support and uplift marginalized communities.
