My Background and Approach
My approaches are varied and you can always expect my full presence. Some people find they are interested in incorporating/learning mindfulness and meditation as part of their therapeutic treatment. Others find the practical day-to-day strategies helpful. While others find the humanistic and psychodynamic exploration of deeper ways of knowing the self -very rich and transformative. You'll find my approaches (Psychodynamic, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Compassion Focused, MBCT-Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral therapy, ACT-Acceptance and Commitment, DBT- Dialectical Behavioral therapy and trauma-informed Mind-Body medicine) - to be an excellent fit in working with your anxiety, stress/overwhelm, life transitions, mood shifts, career, family/relationship dynamics, compulsivity/habits, sense of self and place in the world...
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have found that providing a space of trustworthiness and safety is where real change can happen. People find me warm, accessible, & down-to-earth and we use the practical as well as deep. I believe each person has the innate ability for wholeness and the potential to know/live their highest self. Through a relational, interdependent, and mind-body approach one can shift towards real change to help restore relationships and the nervous system, balance mood, heal loss & build positive self-regard. I have years of experience training others in mindfulness, stress-anxiety reduction, meditation and somatic (body) practices. I'm a former teacher and Broadway actor, a mother of three young adults, an artist, and long-time meditator. I feel privileged to connect with others and accompany them on the journey - living life in all its fullness with hope, humor, and resilience.
