Whether you’re pregnant, a seasoned parent, a full time professional or looking for your place in the world, the beliefs you have about yourself will impact every aspect of your life. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure of who you are, stuck in the same patterns, anxious about the future and ready for change, you've arrived at the right place.
My Background and Approach
If you're ready to make a change but unsure of how to get there, I'm here to help. I use an integrative, holistic approach using evidence based therapies tailored to your meet your needs. Therapy is a collaborative effort and my priority is to empower you to reach your goals by helping heal the emotional wounds that are holding you back or causing you pain. I have supported hundreds of women of color through the pregnancy and have guided them through postpartum and beyond. I also believe, however, that these symptoms come from past experiences that have created a conditioned response in order to protect you. When you uncover the messages of your symptoms, they can inform us of your deeper needs and find ways to address them. I offer EMDR for deeper healing. This is hard, brave work and I am dedicated to be present with you through it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have the ability to heal, transform and grow no matter how impossible it can feel sometimes. Those feelings are messages that are calling for attention. Maybe in the past you were told you were overreacting, or that you just needed to "snap out of it" or you felt like no one cared. I believe that those feelings are still looking for a place to be seen, heard and validated to move through and out of your body. Showing up in therapy is a sign of how far you have already come, despite how challenging it has been. I am an anti-racist. Social justice calls for healing both internally and externally. It is our past experiences that condition our beliefs about ourselves and our place in the world. It's through the validation of the impact of the experiences as a person of color where healing can begin. Therapy must incorporate the empowerment of BIPOC and marginalized people as work towards social justice. When we heal ourselves, we have more to share with the world.
