About My Clients
Does depression weigh you down and say you always come up short? Is anxiety paralyzing that you can't seem to relax? Does trauma hold you back from creating your preferred life story? I follow your lead as I help you increase awareness of how the problems entered your life. The problem doesn't get the final say on how you live your life. Let's reclaim that life you've always wanted, while being in touch with your strengths, values, and wisdom to create your solutions.
My Background and Approach
My warm and caring approach ensures that you feel safe. We're a team, and ultimately, you are the author of your story! Let me help you write it. You tried to manage the problems on your own. You don't have to carry it all alone now. I provide the skills to build your coping toolbox and practice strategies to relieve symptoms and support needed changes. I use treatment approaches to create personalized care for your needs. I center your culture and values in therapy, and provide you the space to utilize any form of your own cultural healing. I specialize working with LGBTQ+, trauma survivors, teens, adults, and couples. You deserve a life that aligns with your hopes and preferences. You tried to get there, but life always presents obstacles. Let's do the work to achieve your goals. My hope is for you to find the growth, change, and healing you're looking for. I completed my Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from CSU San Bernardino and my Master of Social Work from UCLA.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-based, and social justice-oriented therapist. I have a warm, caring, compassionate, and collaborative approach when doing therapy. I believe that you are the expert of your story. I highlight your wisdom, culture, and values to help craft your solutions in order to achieve your goals in your therapy journey. I firmly believe that you already possess the strengths, abilities, and skills to navigate problems. I use cultural humility, social justice, and intersectionality frameworks when supporting my clients. I acknowledge the negative effects of external forces that impact marginalized communities, such as structural and institutional racism and discrimination, sexism, heteronormativity, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and more. I am passionate in the areas of LGBTQ+ issues, trauma work, mental health advocacy, and interpersonal violence.
