About My Clients

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous, and BDSM/kink communities. I have experience working with people who have struggles or concerns with: depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and feelings, academic performance, body image, gender identity and expression, platonic and romantic relationships, and sexual orientation and sexuality. My relational clients often have struggles with secure attachment, communication, opening relationships, and jealousy.

My Background and Approach

Hello reader! If you’ve read this far, there's a good chance you're looking for a safe space to explore your identities, learn how to manage life stressors, deal with emotional baggage that weighs you down, equip yourself with tools to reach your goals - or just talk about change. In the space we’ll build together during our work, I’ll help you recognize patterns, learn about yourself, and develop skills and awareness that allow you to move towards the best version of your life and yourself. I use narrative, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, feminist, and solution-focused therapeutic strategies in a culturally sensitive way that empowers you and meets you where you’re at, just as you are. My eclectic approach incorporates non-judgmental stance, feedback, and collaboration that focuses on you as the expert on your experiences. I see my role as someone who walks beside you for a time, holding hope for you and providing you with knowledge and support - and sometimes homework.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My approach to therapy is rooted in the idea that once someone understands their own feelings, thoughts, and reactions (both in the context of their personal experiences and larger societal forces), and has skills to manage those feelings, communicate effectively, and cope healthily, they can bloom in ways that allow greater peace, deeper connections, and a more balanced way of life. I’m a queer, non-monogamous nerd who uses she/her pronouns and was born and raised in California. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family and loved ones, videogames, creativity in writing and baking, travel, and playing hide-and-go-seek with my cat. I’m passionate about dinosaurs, the importance of language, lifelong learning, and body equality. My calling to help others improve their lives through empathetic witnessing and collaboration can be traced back to my teenage years, and is what drew me to the mental health field. I love using my work to help strengthen and empower my communities.
