About My Clients

You and I will explore together the full expanse of who you are. What brings you alive? What do you want to understand? How you are bearing the world? How do you experience love and pain, growth and suffering? I work with adult individuals interested in the journey of healing-- in body, mind, and spirit. As we talk through what is going on in your life, we will harness your body's wisdom and the power of the nervous system to generate a greater sense of wholeness and freedom.

My Background and Approach

I believe healing is a process of integration– integrating all the parts that comprise the whole you: body, mind, spirit, heart, culture, history, environment, relationships, and beyond. I weave together my 12+ years of training in various trauma-responsive modalities, somatic approaches to healing, scientific underpinnings of mindfulness and neurobiology, with bits of humanistic and narrative therapy frameworks in order to provide you with support that is both intuitive and individualized. Throughout my 13-year career as a massage therapist, I made contact with all kinds of human suffering, as well as human resilience. What I learned most of all through my bodywork career was that I love the human experience. That led me to my work in the international humanitarian field and to my training as a clinical social worker and somatic healing facilitator.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Most of all, I believe we get to do our best healing work in the context of close connection and shared humanity, which is what I center in the work I do. As a trained social worker, I’m basically hard-wired to see through an ecological lens— which considers the individual, environmental, socio-political, & historical factors affecting our personal and collective human experience. I’m always glad to discuss these impossibly big topics, as they feel salient. I am a big believer in the decolonization of concepts of “mental health” and approaches to mental health therapy. As a white, cis, straight-passing queer person, I am committed to my own internal decolonization and to working toward our collective freedom from oppression. Core values informing who I am and how I practice include holism, humility, authenticity, humor, and love.
