About My Clients

My clients are adults and families with anxiety, depression, learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD, and those who are questioning possible neurodivergence/learning differences. I also work with partners/spouses who are navigating different neurotypes, infidelity, the decision to have a family, addiction, or conflict due to differences in sexual desire or political beliefs. In my 15 years in my silver lake practice I truly have helped people in many different situations.

My Background and Approach

In my nonjudgmental approach I combine "talk" therapy with art therapy, mindfulness, productivity/executive function coaching, and EMDR. I have an active approach, blending listening with pointing out thinking/coping distortions and providing education, I don't think change comes just from listening. I believe therapist and client must work together. My first step is a no fee consultation so I can make an assessment on what you need and together we can make a treatment plan. If I don't think I can help, I will provide you referrals. I want you to feel better and be able to make the adjustments needed to feel more content with your life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we all benefit from therapy at some point in life. I personally have worked hard in my own therapy for many years and understand how valuable it can be to have an outside invested in my well-being. Friends cannot challenge us the way a therapist can, and sometimes to grow we need to be challenged. In therapy you are learning, and a good therapist knows this, they will listen, push a little, and praise the steps you make towards change. I believe that the happiness of a larger community is dependent on each individual member thriving. In previous jobs, I saw first-hand how trauma stunts one's ability to thrive, and how educational/employment systems can stunt a neurodivergent person's ability to succeed. Communities need people who are thriving, helping people thrive is how I help Los Angeles.
