About My Clients
I have had the privilege to work with clients of all ages from all ethnicities, religious backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Most of my clients are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, domestic violence, or grief. In addition to individual counseling, I offer groups, pre-marital/marriage counseling, or family therapy.
My Background and Approach
I believe you are the expert in your life and with my expertise within the field of mental health, together we make a great team in helping you achieve your goals. I utilize a combination of cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and psychoanalytic approaches in therapy. I believe people have the power to change, and I am merely a key to help provide clarity, process moments and provide guidance. I help clients understand how thoughts and feelings can influence their choices, and identify emotional and behavioral challenges to establish goals that will lead to change. Through emotional healing and mindful choices, you can find meaning and power to rise and be your best! When I am not working with clients, I serve as an advisory member to Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse and Olive Branch Muslim Family Services. Additionally, I am a peer reviewer for the Journal of Muslim Mental Health and a contributing author for SEEMA, a mental health advocacy group.
