Brent’s clients seek therapy to help them overcome trauma, manage anxiety and depression, process grief and loss, and navigate difficult life transitions. Brent also specializes in working with clients struggling with sexual identity development, sexual addiction and sexually compulsive behaviors, and relationship issues.Brent’s clients participate in guided exploration of formative life experiences as well as the complex interplay between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to gain insight.
My Background and Approach
Brent Ruebensam provides clients with a space to be their authentic selves while exploring potentially sensitive topics.Brent utilizes an inclusive and multiculturally sensitive integrative approach toward therapy drawing from Schema Therapy, which includes elements of Attachment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He additionally incorporates Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in his therapeutic approach. Brent teaches clients how to identify, interrupt, and replace cognitive distortions, which may otherwise lead to self-defeating behaviors.
