About My Clients
The clients I do my best work with are ones who want to work on their relationships. I love working with all types of couples, and I specialize working with perinatal couples (couples transitioning into parenthood), couples in conflict, and premarital counseling. I additionally love working with individuals around transitioning to parenthood, creating healthy relationships, gaining confidence in setting boundaries and communicating with others, family of origin work, and self-relationship work.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Washington, I am specifically trained in family and relationship systems. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I have specific training in helping couples and individuals explore how their formative relationships and experiences impact their present ones. I have been formally trained in the Gottman Method of couples therapy and love helping couples build their friendship, have safe and successful conflict, and guide conversations around their hopes and dreams for the future. I am solution-oriented and as such want to help you get tools and techniques to improve your life right now. I am also a Certified Prepare & Enrich Premarital Facilitator, as well as a Certified Bringing Baby Home Provider, which has provided me the knowledge and tools to guide you whether you are transitioning into marriage or into becoming a cohesive parenting unit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer person myself, I believe all people should have access to learn and create healthy, happy relationships regardless of their sexuality, race, relationship status, or preference in relationship structure. I can connect with LGBTQIA+ clients over the intricacies of being a queer cis-woman in our society, and am working and learning constantly to understand how to best lift up other marginalized communities.
